Chapter 10
Chi Jing and Jiang Yucheng were the last to arrive at the boarding gate.
Shen Yixing saw them and jogged over from afar, trying to take the suitcase from Jiang Yucheng’s hand.
“Mr. Jiang, let me help.”
Jiang Yucheng smoothly avoided his gesture and switched the suitcase to his other hand.
“No need. When is the boarding?”
“We still have twenty minutes,” Shen Yixing said awkwardly, retracting his hand, and then turned to ask Chi Jing, “Do you need help with your suitcase?”
Chi Jing, already at the waiting room door, tightened his grip slightly and directly pushed the suitcase inside.
“No need, we’re already in.”
Shen Yixing had used him as an excuse to ease his own embarrassment but didn’t pay attention to the situation on his side. This made things even more awkward.
Chi Jing didn’t care whether he was embarrassed. He held the milk tea Jiang Yucheng had brought him before entering the airport, found an empty seat, and took a sip.
Lou Yiwen and Ou’er Bai sat together, gracefully facing the camera.
Both had perfect makeup, with even the curve of their hair meticulously styled.
Chi Jing was amazed and thought about how early these two must have gotten up to handle all this.
Shen Yixing, like a tail, followed behind Jiang Yucheng. After entering the waiting room, he nervously explained the boarding instructions and the arrangements after arriving in Country F.
The waiting room wasn’t big. Chi Jing, with his legs crossed, leisurely sat next to Lou Yiwen, his milk tea almost finished.
When the camera turned away, Lou Yiwen glanced at him.
“Drink it before boarding.”
“Mm.” Chi Jing, chewing on the tapioca pearls, noticed Lou Yiwen’s pupils were grey.
The modern-day succubus was a bit puzzled.
“Why are your eyes grey?”
Lou Yiwen smiled, “Perhaps, have you heard of colored contact lenses?”
They didn’t speak softly, and Ou’er Bai, who was nearby, turned her head with a mix of elegance, disdain, and curiosity upon hearing this.
Chi Jing noticed her pupils even had some light brown patterns.
But with Lou Yiwen’s previous answer, this time he didn’t ask directly but instead opened his phone to look up colored contact lenses.
After browsing Taobao, he understood.
Not only did he understand, but he also ordered various styles of colored contacts for himself.
Why didn’t the fantasy world have such good stuff!
Ouer Bai’s gaze was drawn to the milk tea in Chi Jing’s hand. With sharp vision, she immediately noticed the “full sugar” label and exclaimed.
“Full sugar? You actually drink full sugar milk tea.”
Her exclamation caught Lou Yiwen’s attention as well, who then saw the full sugar label.
Her perfect facial control instantly collapsed, incredulously repeating, “Full sugar?”
Chi Jing nodded, calmly affirming Lou Yiwen’s question.
“Yes, full sugar.”
Lou Yiwen: “How can you drink full sugar milk tea!”
He frowned slightly, not understanding, his long lashes fluttering: “Why can’t I drink full sugar milk tea?”
“Too much sugar is bad for your skin. You’re a star; you need to take care of your skin!”
He touched his face.
“It should be fine. I’ve never had anything this tasty before.”
Whether it was soda or milk tea, they were all new to him.
And they all tasted great.
As for the matter of too much sugar affecting the body and skin.
He lowered his gaze, finishing the last sip of milk tea and tossing the empty cup into the trash.
Next time he would try to order half sugar!
Even though full sugar was really to his taste, he was still using a human body after all…
He didn’t want his skin to deteriorate; succubi were very concerned about maintaining their appearance.
After finishing his milk tea, with nothing else to do, he looked around the waiting room.
Jiang Yucheng was chatting with Gan Heyu, seemingly discussing acting.
Shen Yixing and An Boqing were sitting as far apart as possible, almost at opposite ends of the room to avoid being in the same frame.
Chi Jing found this amusing and, being bored while waiting, searched for information about the two online.
CP (Couple Pairing).
This was a fresh term for the succubus, but it wasn’t difficult to understand words related to emotions.
He opened Weibo, the main app for entertainment news, and searched for the CP super topic of Shen Yixing and An Boqing—
Safe Driving.
He initially thought the term was literal, but after reading the top pinned content, he finally understood the actual meaning of “driving” in this context.
To his surprise, it was very much to the succubus’ taste.
Chi Jing, intrigued, looked through the top-rated fan arts and fanfics, which included various high-difficulty poses and concepts.
Humans were quite creative!
More impressive than the succubi from his world!
After browsing these, he randomly swiped and came across a short Weibo post.
It was a brief ten-second promotional video featuring Shen Yixing and An Boqing.
But when he opened the comments, he was impressed by the CP fans.
[At the end of the video, Yixing looked at Boqing, ah, they’re so sweet!]
[They’re wearing black and white, did they secretly coordinate?]
[This world belongs to CP fans!]
Chi Jing was shocked and confused.
In the video’s last moment, it was clearly the host who cued Shen Yixing, and he happened to glance at An Boqing while looking at the host.
And their outfits, besides being black and white, had no other connection, right?
Can people ship this?
He suddenly realized that even if An Boqing and Shen Yixing distanced themselves, with a galaxy between them, their CP fans would still find their own points to ship.
Even if there weren’t any, they’d create them.
“Time to board, stop playing with your phone,” a deep voice said from above.
He slightly shifted his attention from his phone.
He looked up at Jiang Yucheng, who had walked over without him noticing.
Jiang Yucheng placed a hand on his head and, seeing the slight frown of displeasure, chuckled.
“Let’s go.”
Chi Jing glanced around and saw everyone else pushing their suitcases, ready to board.
He tossed his phone back into his pocket, using the motion to dodge Jiang Yucheng’s hand on his head.
“Don’t touch my hair so casually next time.”
Jiang Yucheng laughed but said nothing.
After a ten-hour flight, they arrived in Country F just in time for lunch.
A sudden summer rainstorm hit just as they were about to leave the airport, with dark clouds quickly gathering overhead.
It felt like someone had flipped a switch, and the next second, large raindrops started pouring down.
Shen Yixing was on the phone with the car rental company, his English not very good, making the conversation halting and difficult.
An Boqing, whose English was better, saw his predicament and, despite his manager’s advice to keep distance, took the phone to complete the conversation.
After hanging up, he returned the phone to Shen Yixing.
“They’re coming soon; we went out the wrong exit.”
Chi Jing thought of the umbrella with the GG logo the show’s producers had given them, thinking how clever they were with sponsorships.
The group got into the car, and as soon as Gan Heyu got in, he started making his presence known.
“This car isn’t good enough,” he said, shaking his head, his graying eyebrows furrowing like two twisted worms.
Shen Yixing, shoulders hunched, said nothing. He was the guide for this trip, sitting in the most spacious front seat.
Gan Heyu continued to complain, offering unsolicited advice.
“You young people just buy things online without thinking. See, online car rentals aren’t reliable.”
The nine-seater car felt cramped with eight people, and Shen Yixing had forgotten to ensure the car’s comfort.
This was why Gan Heyu was complaining.
Lou Yiwen and Ou’er Bai were forced to sit with their arms touching, both wearing stern expressions, unwilling to speak or help Shen Yixing.
An Boqing wanted to help but remembered his manager’s advice to avoid him and didn’t know how to start.
The only ones left were Chi Jing and the highly respected Jiang Yucheng.
Chi Jing was the last to get in, originally planning to sit next to An Boqing.
But as soon as he got in, Jiang Yucheng moved aside, making space.
“Sit here.”
He sat next to him.
He still had his sleep mask on, looking a bit dazed from his nap on the plane.
Quite different from his usual demeanor.
Jiang Yucheng thought.
He glanced sideways, close enough to see the fine hair on Chi Jing’s face.
Chi Jing, not actually tired, had felt the intense gaze next to him. So when he lifted his sleep mask and met Jiang Yucheng’s eyes, he wasn’t surprised.
He looked at him with a playful expression.
“Mr. Jiang, am I very good-looking?”
