‘Ugh…’

Chae Suhyeon appeared to be in deep contemplation.

She was still feeling dazed about her current state.

‘What should I do…?’

‘I guess I need to catch Jihoon Oppa first…’

Her heart was in turmoil.

The shock she received was so strong that, under normal circumstances, she would never have thought like this. She was showing a considerably weaker side.

‘Who were Oppa’s friends again…? Ugh… But I need to be able to speak…’

She tried to open her mouth to say something, but no words came out.

Tears almost welled up in her eyes.

‘Could it be… Am I being punished? For backstabbing Jihoon Oppa…? Oh… no… I did it for my own happiness…’

She looked utterly frustrated.

Creeeak.

The doctor entered.

“Oh. Hunter Chae Suhyeon. Are you feeling okay?”

He approached her with a slightly hopeful expression.

However, Chae Suhyeon still couldn’t speak.

“Hm… I wonder why… your recovery is so slow…”

The attending physician wore a puzzled expression, clearly unable to comprehend the situation.

It was utterly unexpected for Chae Suhyeon, a top-tier hunter in the nation, to have a slow recovery.

“I think we need to contact the Hunter Association to check the status window. Something seems off…”

The doctor was certain that there was something wrong with her hunter stats.

There was a machine at the Hunter Association that could indirectly check the contents of a hunter’s status window.

Using that, they could verify and assign ranks.

‘Ah!!! No, no!!!!’

Chae Suhyeon shot up.

She couldn’t speak, but she used gestures to try to stop the doctor.

“Excuse me? Is there something you need?”

‘No! Don’t contact the Hunter Association!!!!’

Chae Suhyeon wanted to scream.

But even that failed since her voice wouldn’t cooperate.

It was a dire situation.

What if the Hunter Association found out that Chae Suhyeon’s stats were at E-rank?

She would lose all the privileges she currently enjoyed.

The VIP room she was staying in was provided by Lee Jinhyeok.

She would be expelled from the Baekho Guild, and Lee Jinhyeok would surely look at her as if she were worthless.

Getting caught was just a matter of time.

However, she believed that if she could resolve the situation somehow before being discovered, then everything would be fine.

Chak.

She blocked the doctor’s way.

To prevent him from leaving.

‘Huh? Why is Hunter Chae Suhyeon acting this way?’

The doctor naturally felt bewildered.

“If you have something you want to say, could you write it down here?”

He handed her a piece of paper.

[ Please do not contact the Hunter Association. I don’t want to escalate this. The Taeyang Group and Baekho Guild will probably think the same. ]

She decided to navigate the situation as best as she could.

“Oh, I see. Understood.”

The doctor bowed and left.

‘Ugh… Just having my stats plummet is already so infuriating, and now I can’t even talk…’

She had no idea when she would recover.

She bit her lip.

‘Should I go out and charm some hunters…?’

She thought this situation was a problem caused by her points rapidly depleting.

‘Right… I need to charm men and gather points somehow.’

‘If I do that, the situation should improve.’

‘If it really doesn’t work out, I’ll just keep charming and gathering points. Maybe it won’t matter if Oppa Baek Jihoon isn’t here!!’

‘If the efficiency is low, I’ll just charm more mindlessly.’

She was diligently brainstorming and exploring ways to overcome her current predicament.

All she had left was her succubus trait.

She had to find a way to make use of it and escape.

She hadn’t crumbled yet.

Lee Jinhyeok was still by her side, and she was still affiliated with the Baekho Guild.

‘Ugh… How do I become an S-rank hunter again…?’

Chae Suhyeon sat calmly and began calculating her options.

‘Ugh… Are you kidding me?’

‘To become an S-rank again, I need to charm 100,000 people? Ugh, when will that happen?’

‘Moreover, to aim for the top S-rank, I need to charm 200,000… ugh…’

She squeezed her eyes shut and pressed her hand to her forehead.

‘Ugh… At this rate, I’m going to end up as a loose woman…’

‘Oh. Am I already a loose woman?’

‘What are you talking about, Chae Suhyeon? This isn’t being a loose woman. You’re just making good use of your traits.’

Chae Suhyeon worked hard to rationalize herself.

She bit her lip.

And then she put on an expression as if she had made a resolution.

*

“Oppa, I’m going to go home and rest for now. I’ll contact you again when I recover. I think I can recover on my own…”

“Huh? You want to leave the hospital? Why? You still look exhausted. Is it because the room is expensive? Hey, I’m Lee Jinhyeok from the Taeyang Group. Don’t worry; 5 million won a day is pocket change. Your health matters more.”

Lee Jinhyeok couldn’t understand why Chae Suhyeon was acting this way all of a sudden.
EP.53

The slow recovery was puzzling, but it was even stranger for Chae Suhyeon to insist on leaving the hospital while still in pain.

VIP room.

Anyone who was sick in South Korea would naturally want to be here.

‘What’s going on? Is there something at home? Why does she keep wanting to leave?’

Lee Jinhyeok could only tilt his head slightly as he watched Chae Suhyeon.

‘Ha. I can’t exactly charm hunters while in the hospital. At this rate, when will I achieve anything?’

It was, of course, difficult to meet other hunters in the hospital. Moreover, movement and entry-exit were not free.

Whenever she attempted to step outside for just a moment, nurses would come rushing.

“Excuse me, Hunter Chae Suhyeon. Where are you going? Please go back to your room. Didn’t you hear what the doctor said?”

“If you keep moving around, your recovery will slow down. I’m sure your guardian emphasized that the patient’s stability is the top priority.”

“You can’t go there! It’s the elevator that leads outside the hospital!”

Getting out of this floor was quite tricky.

‘Ugh… if only there were male nurses around, I could charm them somehow. Why are there only female nurses on this floor?’

The frustrations were piling up.

She had to get out of the hospital somehow.

[ Oppa, this hospital doesn’t suit me. I’m an S-rank hunter, right? If I can’t recover here, then it must be an issue with the hospital. I think I’ll be able to rest better at home. ]

“Hm. Why leave this nice place to go home?”

It didn’t make sense to Lee Jinhyeok, but he didn’t think constantly staying at the hospital would help her.

“Alright. Then let’s start the discharge process today. Maybe resting at home will help.”

“Okay. That’s settled.”

Chae Suhyeon smiled brightly.

*

“Phew. I’m finally back home.”

It hadn’t been long since she had received a tremendous shock, but the time felt endless.

“It felt like I was locked in a prison.”

“First thing’s first. I need to gather points somehow. I feel like my aphasia will disappear if I earn some points.”

That was her instinct.

She thought the sudden drop in points had caused her to develop aphasia as a side effect.

“Hm… and what about Baek Jihoon Oppa… Tsk… I wonder if I can change his mind… I hope he still has some feelings left for me…”

With nervous eyes, she was deep in thought.

“Surely he won’t agree to meet with me directly… So, if I utilize Jihoon Oppa’s friends…”

“He has quite a few friends, doesn’t he? Even if they aren’t hunters, my charm should still work on them… If I can charm all of Jihoon Oppa’s friends, then I can make my way back to him…”

Chae Suhyeon was planning on approaching and clinging to Baek Jihoon again by any means necessary.

She felt that charming every single hunter would require an overwhelming number of encounters.

“It’s definitely easier to rely on Jihoon Oppa than to do this myself. I need to turn Jihoon Oppa’s heart around…”

Chae Suhyeon nodded, gradually building her resolve.

*

“Gasp… h-huff… Hui… Hunter Chae Suhyeon… O-oh, it was such an honor today.”

A certain hunter, completely spaced out, lay sprawled on the bed.

“Please, don’t speak about me anywhere. Absolutely not, understand?”

“Yes, I will uphold that promise. Naturally… Hehe…”

The man was utterly entranced, his eyes glazed over as if he were in a daze.

He appeared almost emaciated.

“Finally… I can speak again…”

Chae Suhyeon had accomplished a lot in just a day.

“Ugh… I can’t believe I have to do this dirty deed again.”

“I’m not some kind of prostitute…”

“I have no choice. It’s for my own sake. Anyone would act this way in this situation.”

“Chae… Chae Suhyeon… Hunter, please take my life… my body… I dedicate them to you. Please…”

The hunter, lost in ecstasy, seemed to regain a little sense as he knelt, bare and bowed his head towards Chae Suhyeon.

“Ugh… sorry, but I don’t need that. Your trait doesn’t seem particularly impressive.”

“Cough… please… I beg you. I’ll become a slave to Hunter Chae Suhyeon. I don’t think I can live without you from now on. Cough…”

“Oh dear. Please just stay quietly at home~ If I ever need your help later, I will contact you then. Until then, I don’t want you to act in a way that shows any affection towards me, including talking about me to others…”

“Oh, of course. Hehe. As I mentioned before, I would never do that. Please trust me. If you make me your slave, I will…”

He was completely enraptured by Chae Suhyeon.

Though in a pitiful state, he couldn’t take his eyes off her.

“Ugh. Seeing guys like this makes Baek Jihoon Oppa seem like a better option. At least he had a beneficial trait…”

Chae Suhyeon opened the status window of the man.

“I’ve drained everything I could from him. Sigh. Only the shell remains.”

“Regular hunters just aren’t satisfying. They don’t elevate my abilities, do they? Taking advantage of guys like this could take more than a decade.”

“Ugh… Jihoon Oppa…”

Chae Suhyeon bit her lip and left the room.
