That’s mocobi—a type of motion capture system.

It’s lightweight and convenient for full-body tracking at home or on the go.

Previous systems were heavy, and for someone like me, it was exhausting, so this is a blessing.

At around 50,000 yen, it’s a very affordable tracking device.

Well, with convenience comes some drawbacks or limitations, though.

As you move, the position tends to drift slightly.

This is the downside of using accelerometers and gyroscopes instead of optical sensors.

Also, it can’t track facial expressions or fingertips.

There are solutions for that, but… we couldn’t arrange them in time, so we’ll skip those for now.

Apparently, you can now do full-body tracking just with a smartphone camera.

However, it’s not suitable for situations with multiple people in the same space, so it wasn’t an option for this stream…
