125.2. Work Being Noble Isn’t Above All, Isn’t It?
I start my work at the guild as usual.
As I began alchemy with Jabil-sensei, production finally started catching up.
Not only that, but I’ve been learning more efficient methods from him, making it very fulfilling.
As I’m receiving a valuable lecture from him while doing alchemy, Plum Frutia, a guild member, comes up to me.
“Craft-san, Raidoc-san is here and seems to have something to discuss.”
“Raidoc? Got it, I’ll be right there.”
“Then I’ll finish the remaining alchemy.”
“Please do.”
When I entered the reception room, I immediately noticed not only Raidoc, but also Solar, his party member and girlfriend, and the Casper sisters Eva, Camille, and Marilyn.
“Oh, Raidoc. So you’ve decided to include the sisters in your party.”
“Yeah. I was a bit unsure, but I asked them to join.”
Then, Eva, the leader of the sisters, responds as well.
“We were a bit hesitant too, but we decided to join.”
“I see. That’s a relief.”
I knew Raidoc had been down for a while after Bepp, Barduck, and Morda left.
But it seems he’s finally gotten back on his feet.
“Thanks. But that’s not the only reason we’re here.”
“You mentioned you have something to discuss?”
Raidoc and his party are top adventurers in this town.
Helping them isn’t just for the guild, but for Golden Dawn as well.
“Yeah. You know that Shururu and Jurara are working on developing the marshlands, right?”
“Of course. We’ve also sent people from the Production Guild to help.”
Shururu and Jurara are lizardman siblings who were once thought to be extinct.
They have been officially recognized as citizens by both the Count of Elixir and King Van, and are now working alongside humans to develop the vast marshlands that were once controlled by the Hydra with eight heads and eight tails.
“Has something gone wrong?”
“Not exactly a problem, but there are areas in the marshlands with deep water-like pits, and several adventurers have nearly drowned in them.
If we had a ranger as skilled as Solar, they could avoid these traps, but not everyone is so lucky.”
“I see. Are the lizardmen okay?”
“They can sense these traps and won’t drown even if they fall in.”
“Interesting.”
It must be a trait unique to a species that lives near water.
“So, Craft, we were wondering if you could create an item or something to help deal with this.”
“Is this an official request from the Adventurer’s Guild?”
“Of course.”
“Got it. …Well, how about an underwater breathing potion?”
“We considered that, but… it’s quite expensive, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. That’s because the ingredients are hard to come by. We need Silver Scale Piranhas… but…”
I said, grinning at Raidoc.
“What? You can get those easily in the marshlands.”
Raidoc grinned back at me.
“If you bring the ingredients, I’ll make it affordable for adventurers. Any leftovers can be turned into products for the Production Guild.”
“You’re a sly one.”
“Well, I am part of the guild.”
“Then maybe I should follow suit and issue a piranha hunting quest from the Adventurer’s Guild!”
“Just don’t wipe them all out.”
“We’ll see.”
Of course, wiping out the Silver Scale Piranhas from the vast marshlands is impossible.
It’s just a joke.
Raidoc and I exchanged mischievous smiles.
“You two get along so well.”
“Could it be that Raidoc-sama is… you know…”
“”No way!””
Solar and Eva’s murmurs made us both raise our voices in protest.
Hey, wait!? Plum-san, who was waiting on the side!?
Why are you looking at us with such happy, expectant eyes!?
It’s not happening, okay!?
Absolutely not happening!?
