Shut Up, Malevolent Dragon! I Don’t Want to Have …
Vol. 2 Ch. 22 Table of contents

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Everyone knew that whenever Rosvisser had a new trick or some devious plan, she’d resort to this clumsy beauty trap to make Leon lower his guard so she could achieve her hidden agenda.

The moment Rosvisser leaned in, Leon immediately snapped back to clarity, inwardly relieved that he had almost fallen for this dragoness’s wiles.

He pushed her away from his shoulder, looking serious. "Dragon queen, you need to show some respect. I’m devoted to purity and detached from worldly desires, don’t even think about breaking my moral resolve."

Oh, look at him, trying to act all virtuous.

What’s this “devoted to purity and detached from desires” nonsense? Anyone who didn’t know better might think you’ve joined a monastery.

While Leon said that, he turned his head away, refusing to look at Rosvisser.

The beauty trap might be obvious, but the beauty herself? Far from ineffective.

When around Rosvisser, Leon had to guard not only against his words betraying him, but also against his eyes leading him astray.

With her delicate face pouting at him like that—who could resist?

Rosvisser, seeing this, didn’t seem flustered. Instead, she casually followed his lead and continued,

“If you are truly so pure, why can’t you look at me?”

She didn’t move closer to Leon this time. Instead, she gently rested her hand on his shoulder.

“I only mentioned, in passing, that we should get a bigger throne. Not just for more comfort when sitting, but for things like... a nap, perhaps.”

Her smile widened as she lightly traced his earlobe with her fingertip. “Where did your mind wander off to? Surely not somewhere naughty?”

“I wasn’t—”

Leon was about to retort, but then remembered why he had come to find Rosvisser in the first place. It wasn’t to discuss the “versatility” of a throne, but to ask where their daughters were.

Now that he knew where they were, there was no point in staying here with the dragon queen any longer. Staying too long might lead him to become her stress-relief puppet again.

Getting Aurora to say “daddy” was far more important.

With this thought, Leon pulled away from her hand and stood up. “I wasn’t thinking anything. You should get back to work, and I’ll go find our daughters.”

*Sigh...*

After all this, Leon still planned to go “brainwash” Aurora.

No way—she had to keep stalling him.

“As if I’d let you go so easily,” Rosvisser said.

Leon raised his hands. “I’ll only be a distraction to your work.”

“You won’t be,” Rosvisser replied, glancing at the reports and documents on her desk as a new idea sparked in her mind. “In fact, I’ll teach you something.”

Leon raised an eyebrow. “Teach me what?”

Rosvisser nodded toward the pile of papers on the desk, “I’ll teach you how to handle these things.”

Leon’s face filled with confusion.

“Why would a human like me handle Silver Dragon Clan affairs? You’re not even paying me.”

“To me, you’re human; but to Anna and the others, you’re the prince. Remember that time during the winter when I was pregnant with Aurora and we had that whole escape plan?”

Leon thought for a moment and quickly remembered what she was referring to.

At the time, Rosvisser had been heavily pregnant, and Anna, concerned for her safety, had refused to let her leave the sanctuary.

So, Rosvisser and Leon concocted an elaborate plan to escape.

The plan was meticulous and flawless, but in the end, it failed.

The reason for the failure was that Anna became suspicious when Leon, who had never shown interest in politics, suddenly wanted to inspect her work. Sensing something off, she caught the escaping queen red-handed.

Leon nodded, “I remember. So what?”

“It was because you were so half-hearted about it, saying you wanted to inspect Anna’s work, that she got suspicious and caught me.”

“That was *your* idea! I didn’t say a word; I was just going along with you. And there’s no ‘half-hearted’ about it—I wasn’t supposed to do it in the first place, so how is that half-hearted?”

“You—”

Leon’s argument was so logical that for a moment, Rosvisser didn’t know how to rebut him.

As she watched him about to leave the sanctuary and go after their daughters, Rosvisser bit her lip, her mind racing to find a way to make him stay.

Since reasoning wasn’t working, she’d have to play the emotional card!

*Sigh...* The queen let out a heavy sigh, sounding both physically and mentally drained.

Leon, halfway turned, heard the deep sigh and stopped in his tracks. He turned back. “What is it?”

Rosvisser propped one hand against her forehead, her other hand flipping through the mountain of reports on her desk. Her voice was weary as she said,

“Nothing really. My husband has his own things to do, and as his wife, I shouldn’t be unreasonable. It’s okay, I’ll manage the work myself. I’ll probably be very tired, but...”

She then looked up at Leon with squinted eyes, smiling faintly, “You go spend time with the girls. Don’t worry about me. I’ll prepare lunch for everyone when I’m done.”

“...”

You, dragon queen, are *this* close to manipulating me!

Do you think I can’t see through you?

Fine, fine, getting Aurora to say “daddy” can wait, but I won’t let you continue this act, making it seem like I don’t care about you at all—

Even though I don’t really want to care, if you collapse from exhaustion, the girls will be worried.

With his mind once again making excuses for showing concern, Leon sat back down next to her.

“Alright, fine. Teach me.”

Rosvisser smiled, pleased. She casually picked up a few reports—ones that didn’t involve Silver Dragon Clan secrets, just some routine documents. It didn’t hurt for Leon to look at them.

It wasn’t that she didn’t trust him; rather, revealing internal clan matters would only add unnecessary burdens to him. Plus, Leon was a beginner in the power struggle game—she couldn’t rush him. He needed to ease into it step by step.

To be honest, aside from not wanting him to find Aurora, Rosvisser herself wasn’t entirely sure why she wanted to teach him this stuff.

He was a human, after all, and her former enemy...

They say, “teaching the student may starve the master,” but teaching an enemy... wasn’t that just inviting trouble?

So why did she feel compelled to do this?

Did she hope he could protect himself in the future amidst the inevitable schemes and power plays?

Or was it something else entirely?

She didn’t know.

For now... she’d teach him.

Not like he was going to master these things overnight anyway—Leon wasn’t exactly quick in matters of governance.

Rosvisser dismissed her wandering thoughts and began seriously teaching Leon how to manage the daily affairs.

Even though Leon had previously said this wasn’t his responsibility, once he started learning, he was exceptionally focused.

When it came to learning, no matter the subject, Leon always gave it his all. It was the hallmark of a true scholar.

The couple sat side by side, exchanging questions and answers in soft voices, occasionally breaking into playful jokes.

For once, the usually cold and quiet Silver Dragon Sanctuary seemed to gain a bit of warmth.
