"Hey, did you see that? Her Majesty and His Highness are working together over there!"
"Wow, you're right! I've never seen them sitting on the throne together."
"Looks like we'll need to commission a bigger throne."
"When did this start? This morning?"
"Yeah, this morning. They've been stuck together all day! Ugh, I can’t believe I only noticed right before my shift ended! If I’d known, I would've volunteered to clean the sanctuary today—then I could’ve watched them all day!"
"..."
The maids were huddled in a corner of the Silver Dragon Sanctuary, secretly fangirling over the royal couple.
It wasn't often that Queen Rosvisser and Prince Leon were seen together. Most of the time, one would be working in the sanctuary while the other looked after the children in the backyard.
But today, not only were they glued together all day, they were even working side by side.
Clearly, the Queen and Prince’s relationship had grown closer!
The CP (couple) fans among the maids didn’t need much to fuel their imaginations, automatically spinning grand love stories from the smallest moments.
Whether Rosvisser and Leon’s relationship was heating up wasn’t up for debate right now—but what definitely was heating up was the throne they were sitting on.
As one of the maids had mentioned earlier, it was indeed time to get a bigger one.
The maids continued to huddle in the corner, sneaking glances, until they heard a voice behind them.
"What are you all doing here instead of going home after your shift?"
"Head maid? Shhh~" One of the younger maids pressed her finger to her lips, gesturing for the newly arrived Anna to come closer.
Anna, confused, stepped forward and followed the direction of the younger maid’s finger. Her eyes widened in surprise.
"They're sitting that close together..." Anna muttered under her breath.
"Head maid, weren’t you at the sanctuary today? Did you just notice it too?" the young maid asked.
"No, I was out inspecting the border. I just got back."
Anna paused for a moment, her usual stern expression softening with a hint of regret. "If I had known, I would’ve stayed at the sanctuary today..."
At her words, the younger maids all sighed in relief.
They had been worried that Anna would scold them for slacking off and only focusing on shipping the royal couple. But it turned out the head maid was the biggest CP fan of them all.
Maybe they should rename the maid squad to something like "Lady Melcvis and Lord Cosmode’s Official Fan Club."
Meanwhile, on the throne, Rosvisser glanced out the window at the setting sun.
She gathered up the unfinished paperwork and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "That’s enough for today."
"Oh, okay."
Both of them stood up.
Rosvisser sighed softly, but then caught sight of the group huddled in the corner of the sanctuary.
The maids, realizing they had been caught, scattered at lightning speed, leaving only Anna behind, stunned.
Wait, what?! How are they so good at escaping? They must spend a lot of time slacking off and fangirling instead of working!
"Anna."
The Queen’s voice echoed through the vast Silver Dragon Sanctuary.
Anna quickly gathered herself and bowed respectfully. "Yes, Your Majesty?"
"How did the border inspection go?"
"Very smoothly. Everything is in order. I’ll submit the report to you tomorrow, Your Majesty."
"Good. You may rest now."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Anna secretly exhaled in relief. But just as she turned to leave, before she could even take a step, she heard Rosvisser call out to her again.
"Wait a moment, Anna."
"Is there anything else, Your Majesty?" Anna asked.
Rosvisser's gaze shifted slightly, glancing at Leon beside her before returning to Anna. She tried to keep her tone as neutral as before. "Prince Leon and I were just working together, nothing more."
Anna blinked, a bit confused. "Uh... Yes, Your Majesty, I know."
"We were really just working."
"Um... Your Majesty, you don’t need to explain to me."
In fact, Anna was tempted to add, "I totally understand."
But after a moment of internal debate, she decided not to say those three words. The Queen already seemed a bit flustered, and if she added any more, it might just push Her Majesty over the edge.
Despite Anna’s thoughtful consideration, Rosvisser’s usually composed expression still cracked a little.
Ugh.
She had only meant to casually explain why she and Leon were sitting together. It wasn’t like she was using work as an excuse to cozy up to the Prince! They were together for work, just for work, just for work!
...So why did it feel like the more she explained, the worse it sounded?
Leon tugged gently at her sleeve and whispered, "Stop talking. If you keep going, your maids are going to spin an even bigger love story."
Rosvisser closed her eyes in resignation, shook her head, and then collected herself. "Alright. Anna, go rest. I’ll see you tomorrow."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Anna bowed and retreated.
Rosvisser breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Leon. "Let’s go home. It’s time to prepare dinner for the girls."
"Yeah."
...
At the dinner table, Leon was holding Aurora, feeding her a nutritious milkshake, one spoonful at a time.
The little one had already grown her teeth, and in a few days, she would be ready to eat solid food.
As amazed as he was at the speed of his daughter’s dragon growth, Leon couldn’t resist taking a moment to say,
"Aurora, say 'Daddy.'"
"Ah-wah ah-wah~"
It was the same familiar baby babble.
Leon wasn’t sure if "ah-wah ah-wah" meant "Daddy," but judging by the number of syllables, it probably didn’t.
Rosvisser was leisurely eating her dinner, her eyes glancing toward her husband and daughter. "You really want Aurora’s first word to be 'Daddy,' huh?"
"Tch, it’s not a matter of whether I want it or not."
The Queen raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? And why’s that?"
"Because Aurora’s first word *will* be 'Daddy,' whether I want it or not."
The confidence in Leon’s voice made Rosvisser roll her eyes so hard they almost disappeared into her skull.
Idiot. You didn’t even notice I’ve been distracting you all day. Feeling smug, Rosvisser leaned forward and pinched Aurora’s little tail. "Right, Aurora? Your first word will be 'Mommy.' Say 'Mommy,' ma~ma~."
And once again, Aurora responded with, "Ah-wah ah-wah~."
Alright then, it seemed "ah-wah ah-wah" didn’t mean either 'Daddy' or 'Mommy.'
Listening to her parents’ back-and-forth, Moon suddenly lifted her head.
"Why can’t her first word be 'Sister'? Aurora, say 'Sister'!"
"Ah-wah ah-wah~."
"Mom, is Aurora a parrot?" Moon asked seriously.
Rosvisser scratched her head and laughed. "Haha, maybe she only knows how to say this one thing for now."
Aurora’s big pink eyes glanced at her beautiful mother, then at her father holding her, then at her sister who wasn’t much older than she was, and finally—
"Ah-wah ah-wah~."
