The settlement where the Wingeds live…… It’s a bit too large to be called a village, so it might be better to describe it as a town or a small city.
When I saw it from the skies before, the place was like a gathering of houses that were somewhat scattered from a high altitude, but the shapes of the houses were quite unique. They were like a bunch of lollipops stuck into the ground, with their living areas positioned quite high, supported by a single pillar.
My first thought upon seeing them was that they’re poorly balanced, and I’d expect them to break if an earthquake hit, but they probably manage with magic. Moreover, I noticed there are no ladders or stairs to reach those living areas. Since the Wingeds can fly, it’s not a problem for them…… but the design really doesn’t feel like they consider visitors from other races.
[How should I say this…… It has quite a unique atmosphere, isn’t it? It did seem like an aerial city when I saw it before……]
[Indeed, the place might seem unusual to other races. However, there always exists a reason for things. Us Wingeds were essentially a sky-dwelling species, so our homes are designed to be suitable for us to land in, while also avoiding obstacles when taking off.]
[Ahh, I see, so the high placement of the living areas prevents obstacles from getting in the way when flying off.]
Indeed, now that she mentioned it, there are no buildings taller than those lollipop-like houses, and the houses are spaced out enough to avoid any obstructions when flying off.
[Also, the Wingeds were simply quite a reclusive species. The others don’t even consider the thought of inviting people of other species. Personally, I think the barrier between species should eventually be broken down, but we just don’t have enough time. To change everyone’s deeply ingrained way of thinking, a long time is necessary.]
Speaking of which, I remember being told that there were various procedures for inviting other species, and it wasn’t something that could be done immediately. From what I’ve heard from various people, the Wingeds are extremely reclusive people.
It seems like Amel-san is more inclined towards interacting with other races. In fact, Amel-san participated in the afterparty of the Harmonic Symphony and seemed to be quite active in seeking interaction with other races. W- Well, let’s just put aside her somewhat chuuni-ish phrasing hindering smooth communication……
[By the way, where’s Amel-san’s house?
[As the Chief of the Wingeds, I live in the place closest to the Heavens. In other words, it’s over there. Let’s head there right away.]
Amel-san, being the Chief of the Wingeds, lives in the place closest to the Heavens…… In other words, she resides in the highest place within the mountains the Wingeds reside…… Well, to put it simply, her house is at the top of the mountain.
The place looks…… normal. It’s a bit larger than the other Winged houses, but otherwise, it looks ordinary…… I thought it would have a more chuuni-esque design, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
She might also be the type that focuses more on interior design.
[Now, come in, my sworn friend! I welcome you to my Chaos Realm!”
[Thank you for having me…… Ohhh…….]
When I went inside, it wasn’t all black as I expected, but rather had a cool vibe. The furniture is somewhat dark in color, but there’s a wooden counter, making it feels a bit like a stylish bar.
[It has a stylish and cool atmosphere. The furniture has a consistent theme, and that counter is really cool.]
[Really!? Thank goodness! I’m happy my sworn friend likes it! You know, I recently made that counter seat. When I visited my sworn friend’s house before and saw the bar inside, I thought it was really cool, so I created a similar atmosphere here. You can enjoy a drink while looking at the scenery there! Also, I made two seats for when my sworn friend visits, so we can later———— Hrnn!? L- Let’s discuss our covenant later.]
When I praised the interior, Amel-san’s face visibly lit up with joy as she excitedly explained everything. Reverting to her natural self and flusteredly correcting herself, her face blushing red, was also typical of Amel-san.
[That sounds like fun. By the way, I was actually here to give you something…… a sample of coffee, and I thought you might like it.]
[Isn’t this the Jet-Black Drip? If it’s a sample, does that mean it will be released to the public eventually?]
[Yes, it will be sold in Kuro’s…… the Underworld King’s trading company. I heard Amel-san likes coffee, so I thought this would be a good time to visit you.]
[I see, I do enjoy drinking the Jet-Black Drip. Clad in darkness as I am, I may have felt quite drawn to such beverage…… though I can’t drink it without sugar……]
Despite adding the last part in a somewhat quiet voice, Amel-san remained in high spirits throughout. It was clear that she was genuinely happy that I had come to visit, which made me feel quite pleased as well.
<Afterword>
Serious-senpai : [I see, so this is the Jet-Black Pomeranian……]
