That afternoon, Li Shu received a call from Huazhi Media about her acceptance.
“Is this Miss Li Shu? We’re pleased to inform you that you’ve been hired by Huazhi Media. Please report to the HR office on the fifth floor of Huazhi Tower tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.”
She was stunned. Reflecting on her interview earlier that morning, she had been certain they placed heavy emphasis on work experience.
And yet, the majority of her recent "experience" revolved around eating snacks and writing web novels. To protect her secret identity, her answers during the interview had been vague at best.
When the legendary "former chubby kid" Zhou Lan asked if she had any works to her name, she could only muster the courage to mention winning second place in a campus magazine’s writing competition.
Feeling a little disappointed, she had returned to her dorm at noon and devoured an entire bucket of spicy wings before sitting down to churn out more chapters.
Food and readers never let me down, so I can’t let them down either, she thought, dutifully opening her laptop to write.
