# Talented Max Level Player Episode 87
I deliberately descended to the first floor.
Aware that the Brave Lion King and Kim Tae-chun would not stay idle. To fight more comfortably in a more spacious area.
‘To give the Ruler of the Field more room to maneuver.’
The 12th floor was crowded with many players. Consequently, it was under the watchful eyes of numerous guardians, and there were favored players among them. The ‘Ruler of the Field’ is not so bold as to wreak havoc in such a place openly.
I clearly remember.
[The ‘Ruler of the Field’ blazes with hostility towards you.]
[The ‘Ruler of the Field’ despises you.]
[The ‘Ruler of the Field’’s patience has reached its limit.]
Three times the same message was sent at once. I’m not certain, but it seems there’s a limit to three for the number of messages a guardian can send with the same content. Packed to the brim, it was a direct warning to me.
‘They must have been biding their time.’
And so, I created that ‘moment’ for them.
‘The Brave Lion King is also looking for an opportunity to pit me against Kim Tae-chun. This moment right now is perfect.’
I knew there would be an outburst someday. And during this outbreak, I knew the Brave Lion King would join. It’s a scenario I designed.
‘I said I’d set the stage, didn’t I?’
It’s better to cause a commotion with the ‘Brave Lion King’ rather than having the ‘Ruler of the Field’ do so alone. Right now, the interests of the Ruler of the Field and the Brave Lion King likely align.
Berserker Kim Tae-chun made a bizarre growling sound.
“Kill… ing… time…!”
Behind him, Chimera monsters bared their teeth, ready to charge at us.
──────────
Orc-Sloth. LV 32
──────────
A hybrid of orcs and Lycanthropes. They’re Chimera monsters. Six in total.
‘They’ve produced quite a number.’
It’s probably the guardian’s limit or the system’s cap.
‘To have crafted that many, there must have been an enormous loss, right?’
Their overall shape resembles a ‘Lycanthrope’ but with lumpy green skin instead of wolf fur. They wield weapons like an orc: clubs, spears, etc.
‘Inherently stronger than a Lycanthrope.’
They don’t have the weakness of becoming weaker when wet. Their muscular strength is also strong. They rank above orcs. Naturally, modern weapons have no effect on them.
Shin Yeon-seo unsheathed her sword.
“Captain. This looks dangerous, doesn’t it? Each of them is level 32, and their presence felt is no joke. And what’s with Kim Tae-chun? He suddenly went berserk.”
Without my asking, my party members automatically found their positions. Interestingly, Kwak Tae-un and Kang Sang-gu stood back-to-back, optimizing their stances to synergize. To protect the two mages, Sun-hwa stood beside them with a large shield, while Ma Sang-hyun raised his mana, standing by my side.
Ma Sang-hyun asked me,
“Big bro. Why don’t those things attack Kim Tae-chun?”
“Right now, Kim Tae-chun is no different from a monster.”
More precisely, he’s in a state that other monsters recognize as one of their own. It’s certainly the work of guardians.
“Listen. These monsters. They move faster than Lycanthropes.”
This meant that in terms of speed, apart from Kim Hyeok-jin or Shin Yeon-seo, no one else could overpower an ‘Orc-Sloth.’
“The traits have changed so much; it seems their Lycanthrope weaknesses don’t work, and hunting them like we did with the Orc Warriors is impossible too.”
In other words,
“Just fighting will cause a significant toll on us.”
If we’re unlucky, someone could die.
“Sbwam. Should we just burn them all? Yangyang-dong’s Arson Master. Want to give it a try?”
That’s probably not a serious suggestion. He would know if he pulls aggro on himself, Magician Kang Sang-gu has a 99% chance of dying.
‘Guts won’t work right now either.’
I gave one more instruction to the party members.
“For now, don’t provoke them, and maintain a standoff. We’ll have support from the police and other players.”
If I’m right, those above are already aware of the situation here and someone will come down. And it’s highly likely that members of the ‘Taeguk Shield’ guild will turn up here. Just a bit slower.
‘The arrival of the Taeguk Shield guild members.’
That doesn’t necessarily mean salvation for me.
‘It means the police and reporters will be in action as well.’
Despite being a mere corporation, I am certain that public authority will move. Maybe not fighters or tanks, but at least a special force armed with personal firearms will be deployed swiftly.
Obviously, the press will cover this place.
‘Taeguk Shield will deliberately slow down for a splendid debut.’
But the ‘Ruler of the Field’ also wants to drag the time. They would hope I’m wallowing in dread. Two different forces hold the same thought.
‘Then the picture is drawn.’
The ‘Orc-Sloths’ are not attacking us immediately. Just radiating an aggressive front. The ‘Ruler of the Field,’ actively engaged in some big play, and the ‘Brave Lion King,’ who’s just biding his time, would be waiting for a bit longer.
“We’re not under immediate attack. Don’t let your guard down and wait.”
Over time,
“The police will fight these creatures afterward. Special forces might be deployed as well.”
The special forces will undoubtedly start to hunt them. Maybe they will treat us oppressively as Sungshin did to them. Very likely so. Because they need to crush our spirits.
“It’s very likely that they’ll act oppressively towards us, but don’t react, just stay put. We won’t hunt them this time.”
I made an unsaid proclamation to Sungshin and Taeguk Shield. I threatened Sungshin’s spoilt third-generation heir with a notional threat, declaring boldly that I’ll raise my worth myself. To tame us, or the players, in that situation, it would make sense to show Sungshin’s clout by mobilizing public power and making us indebted for the gift of life.
Shin Yeon-seo asked,
“Captain Hyeok-jin. What should we do?”
“Keep the aggro from hitting innocent citizens. They’re the ones Taeguk Shield will hunt.”
“Will Taeguk Shield actually fight?”
“We’ll make them.”
“Isn’t that just increasing the damage?”
“Trust me. Today we’ll catch them without any harm.”
Am I mistaken, or did Shin Yeon-seo’s cheeks turn a bit red?
“Ah, understood. I’ll trust you.”
Suddenly formal for no clear reason. Then, the growling noise resounded again.
The growling Orc-Sloths.
Kim Tae-chun, puffing up with no less pressure.
And the noisy sound of sirens approached.
“Huh? Just like Captain Hyeok-jin said, the police are really coming.”
Whether it’s the police or their special forces, nobody should come.
‘Modern weapons won’t hunt them.’
It won’t work. Modern weapons are ineffective against anything above an orc class.
[‘The Nameless Observer’ watches you.]
[‘The Whispering Demon’ delights in your schemes.]
[‘The Merchant of Venice’ accurately grasps your intentions.]
The inscrutable ‘Whispering Demon’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice,’ with his fast calculations, seem to understand what kind of situation this is.
A scene laid out, waiting for the right moment. The disposition of the guardians. Kim Tae-chun’s personality. Considering all these factors, I painted this picture, and it seems those two guardians are quite enjoying it.
“The police are here!”
The police appeared.
Dudududududu!
The sound of a helicopter also resonated.
The police and the special forces moved first. As if showing off their strength, they ordered us in an imperative tone.
“We’ll handle this!”
While Taeguk Shield guild members also descended to the first floor. The timing couldn’t be more precise, as if measured with a ruler.
For now, I warned,
“I am a special class player. It’s dangerous. Modern weap……”
But I couldn’t continue. A police officer in black tactical gear gestured for me to be quiet.
“We’ll handle this. For your safety, please step back from here.”
It sounds good to ask to step back, but in reality, it meant ‘get lost.’ Their expression and tone dripped with this sentiment. They seemed confident in their own abilities.
‘Have I… stopped too many dungeon breaks?’
Orcs should have already emerged in the fields, causing substantial damage. I blocked that, so now they seemed completely ignorant of the monsters’ ‘shield’.
A commander-looking figure addressed us.
“If you do not cooperate, we will use force to detain you temporarily.”
They appeared as if they’d shoot if we didn’t obey. I raised my hands above my head. As a last resort, I added a piece of advice. This was the best I could do.
“Conventional weapons won’t work on them. We need the power of players.”
“That’s for us to judge. Stand back.”
“Modern weapons don’t pierce their shields.”
“I said to stand back.”
I gave ample warning within my power. I stepped back a few paces. Maybe he liked my (reluctant?) compliance, the officer communicated over the radio.
– Fire on my signal.
Reporters arrived in droves, ready to cover the situation.
The Brave Lion King & Ruler of the Field, hand in hand.
Kim Tae-chun, who appeared to be under their spell like a controlled bear.
Taeguk Shield, seeking to become heroes.
And the police, likely directed by Sungshin.
Plus, the reporters ready to broadcast the situation.
The pieces of the puzzle completed.
It matched the picture I drew while whispering with Senia. I’ll bring Taeguk Shield under my wing. I’ll take all the benefits meant for Taeguk Shield. It’s entirely possible with just a few more steps.
Without taking the forefront myself, I’ll share the tremendous support of Sungshin.
‘Taeguk Shield. You want a flashy debut, don’t you?’
The future of Song Gi-yeol will depend on how Taeguk Shield is cultivated. Whether he’ll succeed Sungshin or not will also be decided. Since Taeguk Shield is closely linked to the new culture business.
‘But not on your own.’
The guildmaster of Taeguk Shield, Song Gi-yeol, is not precisely aware that modern weapons are ineffective against ‘Orc-Sloths’. The very idea to suppress them with modern weapons and make a splendid debut in front of reporters is flawed from the get-go.
‘However.’
With my help, it becomes possible. Using my own style of play. At least at this moment. Only I can do it in a way no one else can.
As time passed and I didn’t show any signs of fear, ‘Ruler of the Field’ seemed to become more frustrated.
[The ‘Ruler of the Field’ revokes your last chance.]
So it was my last chance. It seems they wanted me to weep and beg. They’re still mistaken, thinking they’re the ones setting the stage.
[The ‘Ruler of the Field’ holds very intense hostility towards you.]
If I could send a message too, I would have. I hold a considerable hostility towards you too. Let’s see who will win.
The Chimera-like monsters, the Orc-Sloths, began to move with the notification.
‘It began.’
