Chapter 6.1. True Mob Is Just Like The Air
Confronting the Wraith, I felt a different kind of fullness of power. The status of the Wraiths is also indicative of this.
Level 1
Priest I: ☆
HP: 12
MP: 9
Strength: 3
Vitality: 3
Speed: 3
Magic: 3
Luck: 3
These are the stats as they were in the game. Night of Magic is a novel. But because of its popularity, it was also made into a classic RPG game. A nostalgic RPG, it is a real-time turn-based game, depending on how fast you are, you may have multiple turns to fight.
Even if I do the verification later, it was dangerous. Before I used [Minor Heal I], my HP was 1. I was about to die. It’s dangerous.
The Wraith that possessed haunts Yamiyo moving its old woman’s face, distorted with hatred, and looking at me closely. I know, I know. It’s strange, isn’t it? I understand that feeling.
I awaken at the last minute. I’m like a hero.
But I realized that I’m a mob. The game’s specifications tell me I’m a mob more than anything else.
Well, anyway.
“Diediediedie.”
Yamiyo points her index finger at me. She tries to gather a dark aura around it, but it won’t happen.
“It’s my turn! Don’t make a mistake in your turn!”
I turn my palm toward Yamiyo and use my job’s unique skill. It’s easy to use. Just choose the command in your head. The game specs are effortless to use. It’s great, isn’t it?
[Turn Undead]
By using MP1, I flash a holy light from my palm. That light is the light of purification. The divine light illuminates the area, erases shadows, and attempts to purify everything.
“Gaaaah!”
Receiving the purifying light, the Wraith blew smoke out of its body, twisted in pain, and moved away from Yamiyo’s body. Then, it suffered pain in the air and scratched its body.
I was relieved to see that. The specifications were the same as in the novel and the game. If it had been different, I would have been in trouble.
“Relieved.”
I support Yamiyo’s body, which has lost its strength and is on the verge of collapsing, and I turn coldly toward the Wraith floating in the sky.
“[Examine]”
I can’t use the magic that analyzes the enemy’s power now, but I can still check it. That’s the command [Examine]. The level of the Wraith is a little higher than mine, but if I use the game command, I can still examine the enemy.
-Wraith, level 3-
So I know the name and level. It’s the world from novels, so its level may not be completely reliable, but it’s still an indication. And level 3 is a piece of cake.
“It’s just annoying to be possessed. To prevent it, we got the main character’s special skill [Magic Break] or the Magician’s [Dispel]. And, the Priest’s unique skill [Turn Undead]!”
That’s the job I took. That is Priest I. The unique skill “Turn Undead” can instantly kill a low-ranked immortal with 1 MP and weaken even the same level. Above all, it can release “Possession”.
“Oh, you’ve got it!”
“I know, you’ve not possessed someone, can only do low-level [Drain Touch]. But it’s only my turn now!”
I turn my palm and use magic again. The magic priest with proficiency 1 can use are a unique skill [Turn Undead] and [Minor Heal I] of beginner-level Holy Magic I. So, there is only one option.
[Minor Heal I].
I use my healing magic on the old woman with a fearless, hate-filled look on her face as she approaches. Very gentle, isn’t it?
Just before her wrinkled hands are about to touch me, her body glows, and a faint healing light covers the Wraith.
“Uggghhhh!”
Once again, the Wraith writhes in pain, floating in the air and twisting around. It seems that he no longer has time to aim at us.
“Wraith has a Holy-attribute weak point. If I exploit the weak point, I can cancel one action, but this happens.”
In the game, if I hit a monster’s weak point, I can cancel its action once. Then the next time you do it, I can’t cancel its action again, but I was wondering what would happen. I see. But it’s reality, so you can’t let your guard down.
“Well then, goodbye.”
I turn my palm and use magic again. Wraiths are prey to any priests. So it’s okay if you squeal.
[Minor Heal I]
Magic that anyone can’t avoid. That’s recovery magic. The others may have missed, but this one is a sure-hit winner. And for immortals, healing magic becomes deadly offensive magic.
“Oooaaaa.”
Wraith gives a final scream and disappears in silvery ashes. The demon that tried to kill me vanished without a second thought. No, was it purified because it was immortal? Either way, it doesn’t matter.
– Killed Wraith. Acquire 1 experience value. Acquired Magic Stone F-
The Item Box filled with drops, and I finished my first battle. The dead spirit system is a sucker for priests but is a nuisance to other jobs. And since a priest can easily defeat most immortals, the experience is not very good.
“Well, I did it, so that’s good. I thought I was going to die. Are you okay, Yamiyo-chan?”
Oops, I change my tone. If my parents find out what I said, they’ll be saddened that I’ve become a delinquent.
My teachers and friends were far away, so I’m fine. Uh yeah, I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’ll deceive everyone with my smile.
“Oh, Oro? Huh?”
My body wobbles and my blood starts to run cold. I used recovery magic, but what’s this?
“Not good. The game settings lose to novel settings…”
I wobble and fall. In the game, if I recovered, it wouldn’t be a problem. In the novel, there was something like this. If the protagonist doesn’t collapse from exhaustion, the events don’t start.
Thinking of such nonsense, I lose consciousness and faint.
