Volume 1 Chapter 40: The Bar
Ning Chu had never been to a bar before, but the bars on TV were usually filled with loud music, with groups of men and women freely expressing their youth on the dance floor, which he didn’t particularly like.
But the bar they came to today was different from what he had imagined.
The music was soothing and gentle, the voices of the guests slightly noisy, and the bartender behind the bar displayed magnificent cocktail-making skills, which fascinated several young girls.
Sitting in a corner booth, Ning Chu sat somewhat stiffly on the sofa.
Zhang Shaoqing seemed as if he had returned home when he arrived at the bar, especially relaxed and natural, crossing his legs comfortably. With a rich man’s image on his face, he waved his hand and ordered a bunch of cocktails. In no time, the coffee table was filled with various types of alcohol and snacks.
Wang Jie seemed as reserved as Ning Chu at first, but after drinking a few sips of alcohol, his face flushed with alcohol, and his tense body quickly relaxed, chatting and laughing with Zhang Shaoqing.
Wen Yang simply sat calmly on the side, sipping his drink, his gaze wandering around the bar, looking a bit uninterested.
“This bar is relatively quiet, but the service is a bit lacking,” Zhang Shaoqing grinned at Ning Chu, “Otherwise, we could invite a couple of girls to liven up the atmosphere.”
“…”
Ning Chu had forgotten about the term “accompanying girls” in bars, after all, he had never been exposed to this industry before.
“Want a drink?”
“No thanks.” He turned his expressionless face away.
Zhang Shaoqing persistently handed him a glass, “It’s just coke, no alcohol, don’t worry.”
“Hmph.”
It was said that many girls in bars were deceived by such words! After a few drinks, they became unconscious and at the mercy of others.
Even though he had known Zhang Shaoqing for a while, Ning Chu still hadn’t let go of his guard against the villain. He didn’t even glance at the glass of alcohol in front of him.
“Who comes to a bar and doesn’t drink?” Zhang Shaoqing grumbled, then ignored Ning Chu, took a dice, and provocatively looked at Wang Jie and Wen Yang, “Wanna play?”
“Sure.”
— — —
Bar isn’t that fun…
It was just a place to drink and eat.
Ning Chu lazily leaned on the sofa, slowly eating a bag of potato chips, feeling out of place compared to the others playing drinking games.
Considering that this is a hentai world, he had originally expected there to be some sort of strange thing in the bar, perhaps some playboy surrounded by many girls, sold old bastard with a little girl in tow, or some strange performances— But instead, there was only a middle-aged man on stage, singing love songs with a hoarse and mellow voice.
After drinking a few glasses of alcohol, Wen Yang became slightly tipsy and gradually relaxed. He turned his head to look at Ning Chu beside him and asked, “Want to join?”
“No, if I get drunk too, then who would get us back to the dorm? all four of us would end up lying on the street.”
“It won’t happen, this drink is really just a beverage!” Zhang Shaoqing pushed the glass of alcohol over again, “Don’t believe me? Ask Wang Jie.”
Wang Jie nodded, “I’ve had so much and I don’t feel a thing.”
“…”
Seeing them like this, they would probably stay at the bar for at least an hour. If they had nothing to do for this hour, it would indeed be a bit boring.
Ning Chu glanced at Wen Yang and pursed his lips.
The protagonist wouldn’t lie, right?
He picked up the glass and took a sip, not tasting much alcohol, it was more like carbonated water mixed with coke, sweet with a hint of aftertaste.
He shouldn’t have come to the bar.
Letting Zhang Shaoqing attend the villa party is not a big problem anyway; this guy won’t suddenly turn evil just because he participates without organizing a group.
Ning Chu rubbed his temples in distress, taking a selfie with his phone to evaluate his appearance.
His eyelashes had grown longer, and there was always a hint of pink at the corners of his eyes. There were fewer flaws on his face, but the more delicate features and softer facial contours made him look more like a girl.
The change this time was his face… He wondered if his roommates had noticed anything.
He drank another sip of alcohol in distress, unconsciously finishing a whole glass.
“Get me another drink.”
Drinking so much cola in a short time would cause bloating and burping, but drinking this had no effect at all, and his complexion remained unchanged.
Even if there was alcohol in it, the concentration was probably lower than that of beer.
“Another one?” Wen Yang hesitated for a moment, looking somewhat surprised. He glanced at Ning Chu’s slightly blurred eyes, chuckled lightly, and handed him another glass. “Come on, relax a bit today. You always seem to shut yourself in; it’s not good to keep things bottled up for too long.”
“Drinking to drown sorrows is the least reliable method.” Ning Chu rolled his eyes at him and muttered, “I don’t even want to touch a drop of alcohol. Looks like I’ve broken my vow for you guys.”
“Beverage,” Wen Yang corrected.
“Do you think I’m stupid?”
Ning Chu sighed softly, turned his head to look at the other booths, scanned around, and didn’t see many pretty girls, feeling a bit relieved.
He probably didn’t need to worry about girls coming to flirt with Wen Yang while he was drunk.
Besides the named characters in the plot, the girls here wouldn’t be bold enough to make advances on men.
Having only drunk two glasses of alcohol, Ning Chu restrained his desire to continue drinking, snacked to pass the time, and didn’t know how long it had been when Wen Yang suddenly leaned his head on his shoulder.
He was startled and looked down, only to see this guy’s face was flushed, eyes half-open, continuously burping.
Wow, he’s already drunk?
No wonder those twins in the plot were able to get one over you; your alcohol tolerance is really poor.
“Wen Yang can’t handle it.” Zhang Shaoqing looked up, glanced at the situation here, and joked, “With his tolerance, he might end up in the hospital from socializing in the future. He needs more practice.”
Ning Chu rolled his eyes at him. “You just want to corrupt Wen Yang.”
So heavy…
In less than two minutes, the shoulder supporting Wen Yang’s head was already feeling sore. Ning Chu tried to adjust the angle awkwardly, but as soon as he moved slightly, Wen Yang’s body slid down his shoulder, and his head landed directly on Ning Chu’s thigh.
Oops!
Ning Chu’s body stiffened, feeling helpless and trying to lift Wen Yang, but a drunk person is incredibly heavy. He struggled for a while but couldn’t move him.
He couldn’t just push Wen Yang to the ground, could he?
He could only look at Zhang Shaoqing with a pleading look, but Zhang Shaoqing was already playing poker with Wang Jie, completely ignoring him.
Even though there was some intimate contact, he was still a man, and Wen Yang couldn’t possibly have any intentions towards him.
Ning Chu simply gave up, leaning back against the sofa, staring listlessly at the ceiling.
It’s so hot… His vision became blurred.
The aftereffects of the two drinks earlier were gradually kicking in. Unconsciously, Ning Chu’s face was flushed, feeling restless and uncomfortable all over. His consciousness was slowly becoming fuzzy.
Just two drinks! Could they really have such a strong effect?!
He shook his head forcefully, rubbing his temples to keep himself alert.
But a mixture of alcohol and a strange scent was creeping into his nose.
Ning Chu subconsciously looked at Wen Yang on his thigh. This guy’s breath was blowing onto his abdomen, intensifying the heat.
That unfamiliar feeling came back again!
He anxiously rubbed his thigh lightly, his breathing becoming heavier. The corners of his already reddened eyes glistened with moisture, and his ears felt hot and flushed.
The subtle movements brushed against his chest, and a slight throbbing pain mingled with pleasure shot through his spine.
He wanted… he wanted someone to hug him…
