Why do i feel that the donkey is going to be a key point in the future?

So basically two confirmed marriages in the past few chapters, and now now 3 superpower families. The only question now is are they going to look for the sword shard or look for other descendants of the gods. I feel the descendants line was forgotten as once Apollo came up everything was just tossed to the side as i find it hard to believe they cant multitask or at least mention other possible gods or avenues of approach

The GM knows, he found out before the last gem went offline. His main reverence to him comes from bjorn also telling him he was elfnunna who was famous in the real world where the gm idolized him, the gm's screen name is also a play on elfnunna.
