Well apparently, he (MC)stopped Wi Seol-ah and Namgung-bi-ah from fighting over him, and took injured Namgung-bi-ah to towards Sichuan (Black Flame Hall)...and on the way, the Heavenly Venerable, Namgung-bi-ah's great-grandfather and her last blood relative attempted to kill him(MC) and Namgung-bi-ah. The MC got kind of awakening or perhaps the (master of abyss) inside him took control and started fighting Heavenly Venerable meanwhile the MC is in some void floating (presumably his unconscious state) and his vessel overflowing with many types of QI is breaking...then we see the sudden appearance of Elder Shin trying to prevent the egg(or shell) from breaking.
