I had to skip this, and probably a few chapters from this. This "betting to keep talent" method has been massively overused, is insufferable to read, and has grown from a clever way to use ego, to a surefire way of convincing all readers that all members of these bets are certified morons even though they're clearly not...
Wow, would you look at that. I skipped the past 3 chapters and appear to have missed nothing. I hope to never see this "betting" bs again.
