In the afternoon, as promised, Leon accompanied Rosvisser to the Silver Dragon tribe to buy new swimsuits.
In truth, although Leon had been a prince in the Silver Dragon tribe for over a year now, he’d never actually gone shopping with Rosvisser in the tribe before.
Usually, when they needed something, they’d head to Sky City. There, Leon wasn’t a prince, and Rosvisser wasn’t the Silver Dragon Queen.
To most of the dragon tribe, they were just an ordinary couple with two adorable daughters.
When they were outside, there was no need to put on a show of being lovey-dovey. After all, there weren’t many familiar faces around.
But it was different at home.
If they went out together here, they had to be careful. The Silver Dragons needed to feel the love between their queen and prince radiating everywhere.
In short, they had to spread the “dog food” around—even if it was fake, it had to be distributed.
Luckily, after keeping up this pretense of a family for so long, the two of them had gotten pretty good at it.
As they strolled down the quiet path from the Silver Dragon Sanctuary to the village, the couple naturally held hands.
Rosvisser actually enjoyed holding Leon’s hand—or rather, she liked the feeling of being touched by his large, rough hands.
His palms were calloused and covered with scars, the hands of a warrior. Only being touched by hands like these gave Rosvisser a genuine feeling of being conquered.
Of course, the most important thing was that his hands were always warm.
That warmth was the perfect complement to her naturally cool body temperature.
She remembered last winter, shortly after she became pregnant with Little Light. Even though she was well cared for, her body temperature issue persisted, and sometimes her hands and feet still felt cold under the covers.
During those times, Leon became her on-call "heating pad."
Holding onto a grumpy but reliable human heater who complained yet still obediently snuggled up to warm you—it was pretty amazing!
And he even had abs. Not only was he warm, but he also felt great to the touch.
As Rosvisser recalled this, she couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
Leon glanced at her, baffled.
What’s going on? Walking along, and she suddenly bursts out laughing?
Noticing his gaze, Rosvisser quickly straightened her expression, her face turning serious as she asked coolly, “Why are you looking at me?”
“You just smiled like a girl on her first date,” Leon pointed out bluntly.
“How would you know what a girl on her first date looks like? Have you been on dates with other girls besides me?” Of course, the queen's ability to seize on key details was unmatched.
“Obviously. What, I can’t? You control everything—are you going to control who I’ve dated, too?”
Before meeting Rosvisser, General Leon had been single for twenty years, too focused on training to even spare five seconds rejecting girls' confessions. He had never gone out with anyone besides his mentor’s wife.
But since the Silver Dragon Queen was in one of her “jealous for no reason” moods, Leon decided to humor her.
After all, it wasn’t him who was being sour.
Rosvisser gave him a sidelong glare. She knew the guy was bluffing, but she didn’t bother calling him out. Instead, she hummed softly.
“The great dragon-slaying hero has so many fangirls. Of course, it’s only natural for him to date one of them. Why would I even dare to stop you?”
Leon sniffed the air dramatically. “Do you smell that?”
“Smell what?”
“A strong scent of vinegar.”
Rosvisser froze, her eyebrow twitching before she let out a huff. “So now you’re saying I’m jealous? I’m not some jar of vinegar!”
“You’re not?”
“I’m not.” The words came out clear, firm, and with undeniable authority.
“Well, if you say so.”
If the queen of jealousy says she isn’t jealous, Leon wouldn’t argue.
Rosvisser didn’t push it further either. From past experience, she knew that if she continued, she’d fall into one of Leon’s logical traps.
It was like being called “tsundere”—whether it was true or not, once that label was out, there was no escaping it.
So rather than waste her breath, she decided to save it for an evening argument, where the stakes would be more fun.
They arrived at the Silver Dragon village. Although the selection of goods wasn’t as vast as in Sky City, they could still find what they needed.
First on the list—swimsuits.
Noa and Moon didn’t need new ones. This shopping trip was mainly to find something for Rosvisser that wouldn’t turn into a scandalous black sheer suit upon contact with water.
At the shop, the owner immediately recognized her queen and rushed to have the staff greet them.
Lines were formed, bows were made—
But Rosvisser stopped them before things got too loud. “Just carry on as usual. We’re here to browse. If we need anything, we’ll let you know.”
She never liked making a big scene and preferred to keep things low-key during her private outings.
After a polite nod, the staff returned to their posts.
The couple headed straight for the women’s swimwear section.
In fairness, the Silver Dragons had a broad taste in fashion. Whether modest or more revealing, the selection was extensive.
Rosvisser picked up a black, slightly revealing swimsuit, holding up the thin straps and sizing it against herself. She turned to Leon. “How about this one?”
Leon squinted at the swimsuit, which had a bit too little fabric for his liking, and shook his head. “Doesn’t look good.”
“Alright, how about this one?” Rosvisser grabbed another swimsuit in the same style but a different color.
The fabric was still scarce.
Leon cleared his throat. “Still doesn’t look good.”
Rosvisser smiled faintly and picked up yet another swimsuit.
It was another racy piece, and just imagining how it would look on her made Leon’s pulse quicken. Still, he said, “Nope. Not good.”
Rosvisser put the swimsuit down and tilted her head. “This one doesn’t look good either? It really shows off my figure.”
Leon scratched his nose and muttered, “It just doesn’t look good...”
“Hmph. Human fashion sense is so outdated.”
“Come on, it’s not about fashion sense.”
“Then what is it about?”
“It’s… it’s...”
Seeing Leon fumbling for words, Rosvisser’s smile grew. She held the swimsuit and slowly stepped closer to him, eyeing his slightly flushed face. In a soft voice, she teased,
“Oh~ I see what’s happening. You’re worried that if I wear something like this, you won’t be able to control your feelings. You’ll end up falling for me at the beach, confessing your love, and maybe even lighting up the dragon mark again... Tsk tsk~”
Rosvisser tiptoed and whispered in his ear, “But it’s okay, hubby. Just say the word, and I’ll buy it and wear it for you privately.”
Leon quickly took a step back. “I don’t want to see it! Wear whatever you want; I don’t care.”
“Fine. Since you don’t like these swimsuits, I’ll buy one with a bit more fabric.”
With that, Rosvisser picked out a one-piece swimsuit that only exposed a small section of her collarbone and back.
It completely concealed her breathtaking figure.
*This isn’t just “a bit” more fabric!*
But Leon didn’t feel disappointed. If Rosvisser had bought the sexier swimsuits, they might have ended up getting carried away again. And that was an exhausting activity—Leon had no intention of spending all his energy “turning in assignments.”
He was already the father of three, and some moderation in day-to-day life was needed.
Rosvisser finished her shopping and handed the swimsuit to the staff for wrapping.
Leon stepped outside the shop first, waiting by the door.
A few minutes later, Rosvisser emerged.
“Why’d it take so long?”
“Oh, nothing. I just looked at a few other things. Let’s go get some sunscreen.”
“Alright.”
The afternoon passed quickly as the couple gathered everything they needed for the beach trip.
This vacation had two main purposes: keeping their promise to the girls and giving Leon and Rosvisser some time to unwind after the stressful events with the Empire.
But most importantly, it was to reassure Noa that her parents’ love would always be there.
Leon wanted her to understand that no matter what, her mom and dad would never leave her.
