Dohyun looked at Ihyeok, who was quietly sitting, with unease. What was that ahjussi curious about to act like that? Could he possibly know that Hyeseong had a crush on him? No. The likelihood of that was extremely low. Because how meticulous Hyeseong was, there’s no way he would have left any clues.

“CEO. But why are you asking about such things? For what reason…”

When Dohyun stared at Ihyeok, he gave an awkward laugh.

“Just. Out of curiosity. No particular reason. Don’t think too much about it anymore since it’s done.”

Ah, I see. Dohyun sighed with relief as if he was glad. But Ihyeok’s brow wouldn’t unfurrow.

According to Dohyun’s words, it seemed Hyeseong’s partner was not someone he had known for a long time. Since he said it wasn’t that guy he thought was most likely either, the partner was definitely someone he had only met recently.

Moreover, Dohyun also seemed to not know much about that partner. Who could it be? It was when Ihyeok was seriously touching his chin.

“Dohyun, who’s here?”

Hyeseong, who had just woken up, slowly walked out of the room. The one who reacted first was Ihyeok. He abruptly stood up from his chair and left the kitchen.

“Oh? Ahjussi, you’re here.”

Hyeseong yawned widely and stretched. Then, Hyeseong’s white belly was slightly exposed due to his rolled-up clothes. Ihyeok’s gaze was blatantly directed there. Ihyeok also knew well that Hyeseong’s skin was exceptionally white.

His skin was so white and transparent that there was even a rumor going around among the female employees at Taesung that they went crazy trying to find out Hyeseong’s skincare routine.

“But why are you here? This early in the morning.”

“Huh?”

The flustered Ihyeok quickly averted his gaze. Hyeseong looked at Ihyeok with curious eyes. His messy hair and expression that still couldn’t open his eyes well was, how should he put it, a bit dangerous.

“Ah, Hyeseong! CEO said he came to have breakfast.”

Dohyun, who started to prepare the food again with enthusiasm, explained in a loud voice. Then Hyeseong said he roughly understood and tried to enter the kitchen with a face that still hadn’t fully woken up.

“Hey, wait a minute. Where are you going in that state?”

“The kitchen. Why?”

Hyeseong blinked slowly and made a strange expression.

“While Dohyun is making breakfast, I have to feed Bokshil. It’s my turn to feed Bokshil in the morning.”

“It’s fine, so go wash up first. What are you doing when you can’t even open your eyes properly? And what are those pajamas? The wind will get in your stomach. You’ll catch a cold if you’re not careful.”

Then Hyeseong tilted his head. It was natural for him to do so when Ihyeok suddenly came in the morning and started nagging for no reason, like a grandfather to his grandson.

“I’ll wash up after feeding Bokshil first.”

“I’ll feed him, so go wash up first.”

Ihyeok succeeded in pushing the still dazed Hyeseong into the bathroom. As if he thought he couldn’t beat Ihyeok’s strength, Hyeseong even kindly explained where Bokshil’s food was and how to take care of it while being chased into the bathroom.

After confirming the sound of water coming from the bathroom, Ihyeok finally left his spot. And he went into the kitchen pantry and came out with Bokshil’s food.

Dohyun widened his eyes and looked at him with a gaze that said, “You’re going to feed him, CEO?”, but Ihyeok lightly ignored it and headed to the food bowl.

Then Bokshil, who was lying down and rolling around, approached with excitement, wagging his tail. When Ihyeok indifferently scooped food into the bowl, Bokshil suddenly started licking his hand with his tongue.

“Your food is this. Not my hand.”

But even with the food right in front of his nose, Bokshil kept looking at Ihyeok, wagging his tail and licking his hand.

Just then, Hyeseong, who had finished washing up, saw that scene. Seeing a big man crouching in the corner of the living room and taking care of the dog’s food, Hyeseong unknowingly smiled.

If he had his cell phone in his hand right now, he might have taken a picture of that scene.

“He’s thanking you for that.”

Hyeseong approached Ihyeok and crouched down next to him.

“Bokshil is nice, so he always licks the hand of the person who feeds him. If you pat his head like this, he’ll know you answered and start eating.”

Hyeseong grabbed Ihyeok’s hand and put it on Bokshil’s head. And together they stroked his fluffy fur. Bokshil shook his head slightly and finally started eating.

“Right? Isn’t he so cute?”

Hyeseong gently smiled while looking at Bokshil. Then a cozy scent wafted around him. Ihyeok now instinctively knew. That it was Hyeseong’s pheromone. Maybe it was because of that. Or was it because the conflict that had appeared between them at an untimely moment was resolved, making him unconsciously excited?

Ihyeok absentmindedly reached out and stroked Hyeseong’s hair.

“I don’t know. I think this one is cuter.”

The cozy pheromone became a bit thicker. Eye contact between the two continued for a long time.

Ihyeok instinctively lowered his gaze. Even though he hadn’t applied anything, his lips that showed a red tint were moving as if choosing words to say.

“Breakfast is ready! Hyeseong, you come quickly too.”

That’s when it happened. Dohyun’s excited voice abruptly intruded between the two where a subtle atmosphere was lingering.

“Okay. I’m coming.”

Matching that voice, Hyeseong left first.

As he disappeared from view, Ihyeok, who suddenly regained his sense of reality, narrowed his brows seriously.

What, it seemed like he just had a very strange and perverted thought. And towards Hyeseong at that? What the hell was this…

As Ihyeok was lost in thought without coming, the urging voices of the two were heard from far away, telling him to come quickly.

Ihyeok had no presence of mind to the point where he didn’t know if the food was going into his nose or mouth.

* * *

Ihyeok left for work immediately after breakfast. Hyeseong cleaned up with Dohyun, brewed two cups of mix coffee, and went to the living room. Then Bokshil greeted the two, showing his belly.

He was going to take a good rest now since he had to go out to the field later. It was then that he heard unexpected news from Dohyun.

“What? You’re saying the CEO asked you about that?”

“Yeah! I was so surprised. Who would have thought he’d ask about your dating history during college?”

He woke up to the sound of Dohyun talking with someone outside. He thought maybe a guest had come, but when he found out it was Ihyeok, he thought they must have bickered again. Of course, it would have been Dohyun who suffered one-sidedly.

But he never imagined they would be talking about something like that.

“Could it be that you were found out, Hyeseong?”

“Huh?”

“That you like the CEO! If not, why would he suddenly ask about that?”

“That can’t be it. There was no opportunity or event for the CEO to notice my feelings. And there’s no way I was clumsy at hiding my emotions.”

Dohyun nodded in agreement to that too.

There were few people who could keep a poker face as well as Hyeseong. Even during his first presentation as a freshman after entering college, Hyeseong didn’t tremble. Other kids had a mess of expressions and shaky voices, it was no joke, but only Hyeseong stood upright and finished the presentation like an expert.

Impressed by that, when Dohyun ran to him after class and asked if he wasn’t nervous, Hyeseong replied that he was nervous but just didn’t show it. That cool appearance was the moment Dohyun’s respect for him started to sprout.

“Then you know what, wait, could it be…”

Dohyun clapped his hands as if he had figured something out. Maybe because of the fussy owner, Bokshil also woke up with a start.

“What is it? Did you realize something?”

“This is purely my thought, Hyeseong. Could it be that the CEO isn’t curious about your dating history itself, but…”

What does that mean? Hyeseong only tilted his head at the incomprehensible words.

“What I mean is! Maybe the CEO is interested in you in a romantic way, don’t you think?!”

Dohyun made a fuss, slapping Hyeseong’s arm as if he had made a big discovery. Only then could Hyeseong fully understand Dohyun’s words.

“What the.”

Hyeseong laughed absurdly while rubbing his arm that Dohyun hit.

“Sorry Dohyun, but you’re totally off the mark. There’s no way Ahjussi would be like that.”

“Then what do you think is the reason?”

Hmm, Hyeseong was lost in thought.

This was the first time Ihyeok was curious about his dating history. When he was working as a secretary at Taesung, he never showed interest even once. In college, he sometimes nagged like an old man, asking why he wasn’t dating and that he should meet many people at his age, but that was it.

Then, the fact that Ihyeok suddenly asked about it out of the blue meant it was related to the recent changes.

“If I think about it comprehensively based on the recent events, I think Ahjussi might have asked because he was worried about me.”

“Huh?”

“I tried to hide the Kim Doo-sung matter and handle it alone. He was really disappointed about that.”

For the past 6 years, the only thing Hyeseong had hidden from Ihyeok was his feelings. They shared and knew almost everything about each other inside and out.

“So he just wanted to know everything. I’ve never talked to Ahjussi about my dating history or anything like that even once in my life. Maybe he was just curious and took this opportunity?”

“Is that so?”

“I thought about Ahjussi a bit after hearing what you said, Dohyun. To him, I’m a capable secretary and partner, but personally, I must be a cherished younger brother.”

Didn’t he just nag earlier about why he was wearing pajamas that exposed his whole stomach and to wash up first? He had felt it for a long time, but to Ihyeok, he was probably no more and no less than a family-like younger brother. Maybe he didn’t want to admit it himself until now.

But through the Kim Doo-sung incident, it became an opportunity for him to better understand Ihyeok’s heart. It was a bit sad, but after fully acknowledging it, it became a bit easier to face him.

After thinking deeply for a moment, Dohyun apologized, saying his thoughts were short-sighted. Bokshil fell asleep as if tired of watching the two talking like dumb and dumber.

Translation Notes:

8 years gap just call him daddy, I mean if I was Hyeseong who wouldn’t fall for that man, those romantic scenes that can only be seen on movies happening to you in real life, that piggyback ride that would melt my shit Lol. I think Ahjussi is not just aware of his feelings for Hyeseong. Thank you so much, Nemuru for the chapters!! WE LOVE YOUUU!! >3 Have a nice day. Muwapss!
